If exploring the bush on foot is not your thing, then there are several preferred (tented) safari camps and lodges to choose from, where they offer guided morning and afternoon game drives.
Each lodge or camp has its own unique atmosphere, all of them small and personable, and you can choose between different Parks and reserves. All of them offer great value for money, ranging from very affordable to relatively luxurious.
On the open 4x4 safari vehicles you will be able to encounter animals big and small, birds, reptiles and anything else you come across, at a relatively short distance. The more habituated the wildlife, the more relaxed and naturally they will behave around the vehicle. Game drives are typically conducted early in the morning and late in the afternoon, when animals are more active, and last for about 3 hours every time. In the afternoons, as the sun begins to set, you will stop at a scenic spot for sundowners (drinks & snacks), before moving on under cover of darkness with a spotlight, in search of nocturnal animals.
The small lodges and camps I work with in the private reserves are perfect for photographic safaris, and photographic guides can be arranged to guide your group or family.
