As a poor overlanding guide with some time to kill in between tours I took a bus in 2002, and ended up in Maun, Botswana. At Audi Camp I met this crazy Swiss dude who had a car and a tent, and he invited me to travel with him into Zim (or perhaps I invited myself, I cannot remember :)), where I saw my first Wild Dogs in the wild in Hwange NP. After a few days in Vic Falls we parted ways in Kasane, as I had run out of money and had to return to SA to start another tour. Last week we met again after 13 years, when he came to SA with his two children and his father. How wonderful to see him again, and what a fun evening we had!
